2026 NorthChamber Northland Business Excellence Awards
Integrated Electrical & Solar were thrilled to be named as a finalist in the 2026 Northland Business Excellence Awards, run by NorthChamber.
The awards dinner was held on Friday 2 October 2026 at McKay Stadium, Whangārei, where we finished runner-up in our category. Hearing how close the result was, we couldn’t be prouder of our business and the team behind it.
While we couldn’t have the whole team there, Wayne, Scott, Renee and Conor represented us and had a fantastic night celebrating alongside other great Northland businesses. Congratulations to all of the winners and to our fellow finalists, and thank you to the organisers for a memorable evening.

L-R: Conor Romley (Electrician, New Build Specialist), Renee Montgomery (Office Manager), Wayne Jecentho (Director, Electrician), Scott McSkimming (Electrical Supervisor, Inspector) at the 2026 Northland Business Excellence Awards.
Why we entered
Entering the Northland Business Excellence Awards takes a business through a detailed look at how it actually runs, followed by an interview with the judges. The judges were looking for businesses that are modern in their approach, show excellence in how they operate today, have the potential to keep growing, run on effective systems, and treat staff and customers well. It is an outside view, and we wanted to see how our business stood up to it.
What the judges said
We were really pleased with the panel’s feedback. Here are a few of the things the judges picked out:
- A clear direction in combining electrical contracting with solar and related energy solutions, well aligned with what Northland and New Zealand need.
- Practical industry knowledge and a real commitment to professionalising the business, with systems for job control, quoting, scheduling and visibility rather than relying on experience alone.
- A good understanding of our legal, regulatory and public responsibilities in a highly regulated trade.
- Investment in people, apprenticeships and capability, supporting both service quality and the future of the business.
- Customer and trade relationships as a real strength, with a focus on reliability and completing work to a professional standard.

Thanks to the team
The positive feedback from the panel was largely about systems and relationships. None of that is possible without the people on the tools and in the office. Thank you to every member of our team for the part you play in making Integrated what it is. This recognition reflects the hard work, care and commitment you bring every day.
