Turning Point Coffee, Whangarei
In moving from Auckland, Stu Hargie wanted to convert the shed of his Whangarei home into one of the most advanced small batch coffee roasters in New Zealand, using infra-red elements rather than gas so as to produce less emissions. The key to their business model is creating sustainably sourced quality-focused specialty coffee, whilst minimising their impact on the environment.
The challenge given to Integrated was to create a functional well lit work space for roasting coffee whilst also being mindful that the cool, ambient vibe was maintained for retail purposes – white washed ply walls, polished concrete floors and black fittings.
The Integrated design team used Switch Lighting to create ample lighting for workspaces without taking away the ambience, highlighting the industrial roastery equipment as features of the workspace.
